Winter Storm for the High Country as the East Stays Mild

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - After a mild weekend, a mild Monday come to Denver as the high rose to 61 degrees officially and that is 16 degrees above normal. Downtown we reached 63. Look got more mild temperatures for Tuesday with a high back in the low 60s, but expect an increase in clouds with the chance for a few late showers - maybe coming after dark. Another winter storm is taking aim at the high county prompting Winter Weather Advisories for the southern mountains for 4 to 10 inches of snow, and a Winter Storm Warning for the northern and central mountains for up to 2 feet of new snow! Both continue until 6pm Wednesday.

Wednesday, Denver is back to partly sunny skies and mild temperatures with a high near 60; even milder Thursday as we warm into the mid 60s, and we'll end the week with partly cloudy skies on Friday with a high in the upper 60s.

Unfortunately, weather changes just in time for the weekend: cooler Saturday with a chance for rain - possibly changing over to snow Saturday night into Sunday. Saturday's high should be in the low 50s with Sunday's in the more seasonal mid 40s.
