Storms - Some With Heavy Rain - and Cooler, Through the Weekend

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - The combination of afternoon heating and another batch of monsoon moisture flowing northward got another round of thunderstorms rolling by afternoon. Denver reached a high of 93 degrees - 92 degrees downtown - then cooled off under afternoon showers and storms. That is the result of the strong Monsoon Moisture flow pushing into the region, and that set-up should stay with us right on through the weekend. Cooler air will also move in - on Saturday Denver could be about a dozen degrees cooler than Friday - look for a high in the low 80s, along with the widespread showers and storms. We won't see much severity with these storms - the main result will be heavy, even flooding, rains.

Sunday looks to see more of the same: showers and storms with a high back into the low 80s. As we begin next week...not much change in the forecast as we'll see showers, storms and a high back and a high around 80 for Monday. Scattered storms Tuesday, high in the low 80s; isolated storms Wednesday with highs remaining in the low 80s.
