Last Day of Heat for a While...and Moisture on the Way

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - As promised, Wednesday was one more hot day: 96 officially at the airport and 97 degrees downtown. Now cooler arrives on Thursday and with it plenty of monsoon moisture. We already have a Flash Flood Watch out for southwest and west central potions of the state until midnight tonight - and then issued again for Thursday from Noon until Midnight. The high Thursday will only be in the upper 70s - then only in the low to mid 70s on Friday - with rain and thunderstorms to go along with those cooler temperatures. The greater metro area could see anywhere from near a half inch of rain to the north and over an inch toward the south.

Clouds with showers and storms continue into Saturday with a little warming - high into the low 80s; little change for Sunday with a high in the mid to upper 80s.
