Independence Pass Opens, Trail Ridge Road To Open Early
DENVER (CBS4) - Independence Pass is now open for the season.
The dry winter means state Highway 82 south of Aspen opened two weeks earlier than scheduled. Last year crews had to race to have the 12,000-foot pass open for Memorial Day.
The highest continuously paved road in the country will be opening early as well. Rocky Mountain National Park says Trail Ridge Road will open on Monday as long as the weather cooperates.
It would be the third earliest opening of Trail Ridge Road.
