Firefighters Rescue 3 Dogs From Townhouse Fire
DENVER (CBS4) - Firefighters rescued three dogs from a townhouse fire in Denver Sunday afternoon.
According to Cunningham Fire Division Chief Tom Chavez, the fire broke out just after 2 p.m. and quickly became a two alarm fire at the townhouse located in the 2500 block of South Syracuse Way.
The fire started on the third floor of a three-story home and extended into the attic.
"When I came out the corner of the balcony was on fire and then it was right next door to a propane tank. So I ran inside and told the rest of my family to leave. When we came back out, it hit the propane tank and it was like a flame thrower," said one witness.
Investigators haven't determined a cause but believe it started on a balcony.
Chavez said "we got lucky" there was no wind.
Nobody was injured.
Dusty Powell provided CBS4 with video of the fire.
