DIA Operations Slowly Return To Normal After Hundreds Of Cancellations

DENVER (CBS4) - The snow has finally stopped falling at Denver International Airport after a snowstorm hit the metro area Tuesday. Approximately 500 flights were cancelled and many travelers were stranded in the airport overnight.

The new Westin Hotel attached to the airport was sold out Tuesday night, and rooms were reportedly going for $500.

Most Wednesday flights are on time, but all those delayed from Tuesday have to make their way through the airport. The security line was packed Wednesday morning but moving consistently.

According to FlyDenver.com, a total of eight cancellations were listed Wednesday: four flights on Southwest, three flights on United, and one on American.
