Site Of Deadly Explosion Could Be New Neighborhood Park

FIRESTONE, Colo. (CBS4) - The site of a deadly home explosion in Firestone could soon become a neighborhood park.

Mark Martinez and Joey Irwin were killed in the explosion in the spring of 2017.

The explosion was caused by methane leaking from a cut oil and gas line.

The Longmont Times-Call reports Martinez's wife, Erin, is considering donating the property for the park.

Erin survived the explosion, but was badly hurt.
