Copper Mountain Begins Snowmaking
SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The weekend's low temperatures brought snowmaking conditions, as well as a dusting of snow to some high peaks.
Copper Mountain began snowmaking early Sunday morning after an overnight temperature of 27 degrees. The snowmaking guns were fired up on the Andy's Encore trail.
Copper is scheduled to celebrate its opening day on Nov. 6.
The resort is focusing on the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center, where U.S. ski team hopefuls will train for the upcoming season. The opening day pep rally at Copper Mountain will feature Colorado Olympians Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn.
