122 Vets From Colorado Take 'Honor Flight' To Washington To Visit Memorials

DENVER (CBS4) - A group of Colorado veterans are visiting Washington, D.C. Monday after receiving quite the send-off Sunday.

Firefighters from several agencies lined Interstate 25 as the group headed to Denver International Airport.

A group called "Honor Flight" in northern Colorado organized the trip for 122 World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars to the nation's capitol. They will visit the war memorials.

Donations paid for the travel and the costs associated with the trip for the veterans.
