Planet Mercury may have 11-mile deep layer of diamonds

Mercury was formed roughly 4.5 billion years ago under incredibly high pressure and temperatures. Scientists recreated the conditions using a high-tech machine called an anvil press, which is also used to make synthetic diamonds.
