Pieces of Learjet’s tail found 4 miles from crash site suggest it broke apart before, NTSB says
Investigators found the left elevator, a tail control surface, in three pieces between about 1.3 and 3.8 miles from where the jet went down Sunday in Greenacres, Florida, killing all nine people aboard. The NTSB says it doesn’t yet know why the parts separated.
