Israel considering deal with Hamas to secure release of some hostages

Israel might be expanding its ground invasion to the south of Gaza, where hundreds of thousands have fled to seek safety. Meantime, Israel is considering a deal that would allow some hostages held by Hamas to be released in exchange for a three- to five-day ceasefire, during which aid would be permitted into Gaza. This comes a day after the focused invasion of Gaza's largest hospital by Israeli troops.
