Cook County creates specialized unit to prosecute domestic violence homicides amid 15% surge
Cook County State's Attorney Eileen O'Neill Burke announced the creation of a Domestic Violence Homicide Unit staffed with specialized prosecutors, as her office has charged 32 domestic violence homicides since she took office in December 2024.
