Chicago nonprofit Open Books working to address literacy gap

March is National Reading Month, dedicated to encouraging people of all ages to read every day. Research shows literacy is directly tied to quality of life. Those with higher reading skills tend to have better job opportunities and get paid more. The worst literacy rates tend to be found in low-income communities. Joining us is Eric Johnson, executive director of Open Books, a Chicago nonprofit working to address the literacy gap.
