Investigators were called to the 100 block of Dawson Drive in Elgin about 2:20 p.m. for reports of a fight in progress, according to a statement from Elgin police. When officers arrived, an 18-year-old man told them he was driving when a vehicle started following him.
UIC police said, shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, the victim was attacked by four men near 12th and Morgan streets. The men, dressed in all black, beat the victim and stole his money and his pants.
The 26-year-old man was in the 200 block of South Lockwood at 2:42 a.m. when someone walked up and announced a robbery, according to Chicago Police. The man was shot during the robbery.
A 29-year-old man has been charged with multiple robberies on the North Side.
Four people, including 21-year-old Richard D. Smith, robbed the Advance Auto Parts store in the 2200 block of Grant Street in Gary, Ind., at gunpoint on Dec. 22, according to a statement from Gary police. They took the drawers from the cash registers and ran away.
