For the first time in history, a sitting president and a former president will to head-to-head before millions of Americans in a live televised debate.
The debate will take place in Atlanta. According to a new CBS news poll, most democratic voters want Biden to strike a forceful tone during the debate, while most republican voters want Trump to be polite.
The rules include muted microphones while the other candidate is talking and no audience. Also, no props or hand-written notes are allowed on stage, but the candidates will be given a pen, paper, and a bottle of water.
A CBS News poll shows while younger voters prefer Mr. Biden, only 66% say they will vote this year.
It may be a make-or-break moment for both candidates. Both need to motivate key groups of voters, including those under 30, with the majority of whom say Biden and Trump's age is a factor.
With Trump's legal troubles looming, there's still much for his rivals to cover in the debate.
