In the most recent robbery, two men approached a 76-year-old man in the 2700 block of South Karlov Avenue about 5:30 p.m. Monday, forcefully displayed a gun and demanded his belongings, according to Chicago Police. The man was shot in the right leg during the robbery, and the suspects left the area.
The man was in the 2400 block of South Washtenaw Avenue at 8:35 p.m. when someone in a passing four-door vehicle fired shots, striking him in the left leg, police said. The vehicle then drove west.
The 37-year-old officer was returning home from work around 10:30 p.m., still wearing his uniform, standing in the alley behind his mother's home in the 2800 block of South Tripp Avenue, when someone in a minivan opened fire on him, police said.
