In the most recent shooting, a 35-year-old man was shot multiple times about 12:30 a.m. Monday in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
An autopsy was conducted October 29, but the cause and manner of death are pending further studies and investigation.
In both cases, a male clerk handed over an unknown amount of money, and the robber ran off.
"Additional testing will need to be conducted before we can confirm there is a connection," Elgin police said.
