Authorities were called shortly after 10 p.m. to a structure fire at a home in the 15300 block of South Loomis Avenue. The house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The adjacent homes were evacuated as heavy smoke spread from the fire, although flames were contained to the house where the fire started.
About 10 p.m., Evanston firefighters responded to a report of a grass fire at Lighthouse Beach, 2611 Sheridan Road, according to the Evanston Fire Department.
