Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Thursday night that in an effort to prevent the further spread of coronavirus, City Hall will not be open to the general public effective Friday.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Thursday announced that the Chicago Public Schools' closure will be extended to April 21 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Although the race isn't officially over yet, according to city vote totals so far, Illinois State Rep. Aaron Ortiz is leading the race with 40.4% of the vote, ahead of Burke's 32.9%, and Alicia Elena Martinez's 26.8%.
According to Jim Allen of the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners, preliminary results show that with 477,444 ballots cast, turnout was a little above 31%.
