Yorkville Man Collides With Pony, Charged With DUI

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Yorkville man who struck and killed a pony while driving an all-terrain vehicle has been charged with DUI, police said.

Quintin Wissmiller was injured when his Polaris Ranger ATV struck a Shetland Pony in the 11500 block of Brisbin Road near Helmar Road in Yorkville around 3 a.m on Sunday. According to police, the pony was on the roadway.

Kendall County Sheriff's deputies responded and determined that Wissmiller, 33, was intoxicated and driving on a revoked license.

Wissmiller, of the 11000 block of Brisbin, was taken to the hospital and treated for a head injury.

Wissmiller has been charged with driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license.

Due to the severity of its injuries, the pony had to be euthanized.
