White Sox Coaches Need To 'Consider All Options' For Danks

CHICAGO (WSCR) After a rough start, the Chicago White Sox have started to turn their season around, and only time will tell if they can climb up the standings and compete for the AL Central title. If John Danks can turn his season around, that climb will be a lot easier.

"When you have a guy struggling like this, and he wasn't really struggling till the last one, his ERA until the last one was 4.32, which is certainly respectable," Ken Rosenthal, of FOX Sports, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "But you get to the point where you're in a rut."

Since Jake Peavy's return on May 11, the White Sox have been using a six-man rotation. There are some who feel that because of the effectiveness of the other five starters, Danks should be moved to the bullpen.

Rosenthal, however, favors a different route before sending him to the bullpen.

"Maybe you skip him a start, maybe you send him down for a start," Rosenthal said. "Whatever it takes to get him back going...Sometimes a player can get in a rut simply because he's doing the same thing, putting more pressure on himself, and it's a managers job, it's an organization's job to find a way to take the pressure off, in whatever way you can. It's not always easy, and it's ultimately up to the player to turn it around, but I would consider all options with Danks."
