White Sox Nab Pitcher Giovanni Soto Off Waivers From Athletics
(CBS) The White Sox have claimed left-handed reliever Giovanni Soto off waivers from the Athletics, they announced Monday.
The 25-year-old Soto went 1-3 with a 5.14 ERA in 49 innings at Triple-A Iowa last season as a member of the Cubs' organization. The Athletics had claimed him from the Cubs in early October.
Soto has a 3.29 ERA across eight minor league seasons. He was a 21st-round pick of the Tigers in the 2009 draft.
The White Sox's 40-man roster sits at 38 players now.
