White Sox Claim OF Daniel Fields From Dodgers

(CBS) The White Sox have claimed outfielder Daniel Fields off waivers from the Dodgers.

The 24-year-old, lefty-swinging Fields hit .228 with seven homers, 41 RBIs and a .335 on-base percentage in 122 games last season for Triple-A Toledo, where he spent most of 2015. He's a career .244 hitter in six seasons in the Tigers' minor league system.

Los Angeles had claimed Fields on Dec. 7. He was originally a sixth-round pick in the 2009 draft.

The White Sox's 40-man roster is now at 38 players.
