Warm, partly sunny Thursday for Chicago area. Storms return on Friday.
Following a pleasant, spring-like Thursday with cooler winds near the lake, we are tracking our next chance of rain arriving Friday.
The rainmaking system isn't expected to bring everyone rain on the last day of the work week, as brisk winds off the lake may keep the atmosphere a bit more stable. Expect a 50% coverage of showers and storms during the day, with a few pockets of brief heavy rain possible.
Gray skies and brisk lake breezes carry us into Saturday, but Saturday afternoon and Sunday bring the return of sunshine and an eventual warm-up. A Weather Alert is in effect on Tuesday for our next risk of severe storms.
