Two Down And Two To Go

Even though the Blackhawks are up two games to none they consider game 3 as a must win situation. Actually the reasoning is healthy considering how the Hawks have let down at times during this post season. Also factor in that other teams have allowed leads in series to evaporate (see the Boston Bruins) and you understand the urgency to put the Sharks away as quickly as possible.

Certainly the Hawks have been a vastly different team on the road as opposed to playing at home. Their record at the United Center is just 3-3 in the playoffs while they have won a record seven straight on the road. With that in mind maybe that's why Joel Quenville is housing his team at a downtown hotel after Friday's morning skate. Maybe the Hawks can duplicate that road feeling by staying a few hours in a hotel lobby.

Quenville is trying to pull all the stops out but he wont be making any changes in the team's style of play on the ice. The players know that they have to keep the games at the United Center simple and if that means not so many pretty plays but rather wins they will gladly make the trade.

Quenville is also conscious that the city is getting further and further behind the team and he is cautioning his players not to get caught up in all the hoopla. Cockiness can kill the best of teams and should they get the needed six more wins in these playoffs then the Hawks will be able to enjoy all that comes with winning a championship.
