The Bears are 6-3 in a less than stellar NFC. For that reason, the team is sitting in a good position to make a run to the playoffs for the first time since losing the Super Bowl.
"When you look at what constitutes good or legitimate...in the NFC, [the Bears] are in a log jam, probably one step from the top," Hub Arkush said on Tuesday's Boers and Bernstein show. "The Atlanta Falcons, by virtue of the one game lead, at 7-2, I guess they're a clear number one seed right now."

"You look at the 6-3 teams, and I think you can assume after [Monday] night that Philadelphia probably scares you a little bit. You look at the head-to-head competition with the New York Giants, you have to rank the Giants ahead of the Bears," Arkush said. "But [if you look at] the rest of that group [of 6-3 teams, the Bears are] in the thick of the playoff hunt right now."
