The Champagne's On Ice

Back in the City Of Brotherly Love. Now there's a misnomer. Not much love in this town,  and certainly none for the Blackhawks,  and for just that reason I hope they win the Stanley Cup right here. It would give me ( and likely them) great satisfaction to skate around the ice with the Cup while the Phily faithful are booing. After all that's what these people do best....Boo. And they'll be booing both the Hawks and their own team too. Actually the Hawks don't really care where they win as long as they prevail. The thrill might even be better doing it in front of their home crowd but why take chances.

The Hawks will treat Game 6 here in Phily as if it is a do or die Game 7. They want to keep playing with that desperation that finally kicked in during the third period of game 4. That's when they started playing like the team we have been accustomed too all season. Certainly in that 5th game they were the far superior team and if they play anything like that tomorrow night the Champagne will be flowing.

The Flyers have been a resilient team all season and they are to be commended for it but they have been living on borrowed time for two months and their time is just about up. The Hawks have finally figured out how to attack Chris Pronger and it wont make any difference which goal tender is in nets for game 6 because neither is any good. Brian Bouchier is still hurting with a bad knee and Michael Leighton is a back up at best.

If the Hawks get any kind of early lead, and especially if they keep pouring it on, the Wachovia Center will be a crescendo of boos. I can't wait to see it.
