Tantalizing

Admit that you are allowing yourself to visualize the aftermath of a Hawks victory tonight in Philadelphia.  You are seeing the players take turns skating in circles with the Stanley Cup aloft, grins on their shaggy faces, understanding that they have accomplished one of the most difficult tasks in team sports.

And then you shake those images out of your head, because they make you feel guilty, and vaguely worried.  You look at the clock, you look at the listed time for the start of game six, and you realize that this is going to feel like a very long day.

We will preview the potential clincher this afternoon, as we prepare for what may be a celebretory night in the city and on the station.

Elsewhere, the relationship between Ozzie Guillen and Ken Williams may be nearing a tipping point.  Ozney Guillen fell down MLB draft boards, and brother Oney used his poison Twitter account to allege a Sox-led conspiracy.  The amount of public bile is bad for all involved, and well-run organizations try to stop such things one way or another.

At least it takes the focus off another loss, as well as a disappointing Cubs defeat at the hands of the Brewers.  Carlos Marmol's rare failure had to be described by the TV guys, as the video feed went down in the ninth.  The screen reading "Technical Difficulties" was apt for what was going on.

Stephen Strasburg is a thing, huh?  Let's enjoy him before his elbow and/or shoulder explode.

And Ray Allen followed a record-setting performance in game 2 with an 0-13 shooting night back on his home floor.  Go figure.
