CHICAGO (CBS) -- An Illinois State Police trooper is hit on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

It happened around 4:45 Saturday morning near 57th Street.

Illinois State Police tell CBS 2 News the driver slammed into the officer's car as he was making a traffic stop.

The trooper's injuries are not life-threatening.

At least three other vehicles were also hit.

No other injuries were reported.
