Six Flags Great America: Best Thrill Rides

Can't afford to skydive? Bungee jumping not your thing? Theses rides at Six Flags Great America have all the thrills you need.

Giant Drop

If you enjoy beautiful views at 227 feet, the Giant Drop is the perfect thrill ride for you. View the entire park as you and your blood pressure rise 20 stories. Did I mention there is a short pause once you reach the top? The pause is long enough to build tremendous anxiety before you're dropped to the ground at 62 m.p.h.

Raging Bull

The world's first hyper-twister coaster is the tallest, fastest, longest roller coaster at Six Flags Great America. If the 20-story lift hill isn't enough to get your heart pumping, the 65-degree first drop will be. At 70 m.p.h., please keep hands, feet, and high-pitched screams in the car at all times.

Superman: Ultimate Flight

Look up! It's a bird, it's a plane. No, that's you. Put the S on your chest as you ride this super coaster. Lie face-down and fly head first around loops, swoops, curves and spirals. The 360-degree in-line roll will make you feel like the Man of Steel and a fighter pilot at the same time. This is truly the only way to fly.

Iron Wolf

Iron Wolf

Public Service Announcement: This ride is not for the faint of heart. I recommend stretching and taking some sort of pain reliever beforehand. But it's totally worth it. It's tough enough to take a 90-foot drop sitting down, but try it standing up. Your head and body will rock through every turn and loop and you will exit howling for more.

Vertical Velocity

Looking for a slow build-up? Get out of line and go for the Tea Cups. As soon as you are strapped in and secure, this roller coaster takes off at face-melting speed. Bring on full body whiplash! There are no banks or curves, just 70 m.p.h. of nothing but up, up and away between the two 185-foot towers.
