Schuster: Danks Goes On D.L.
By: David Schuster
Opting better to be safe then sorry the White Sox placed pitcher John Danks on the 15 day disabled list with a strained right oblique.
Danks suffered the injury in Saturday's game and was in a lot of pain afterwards. On Sunday he told us that he felt much better but the Sox decided that they couldn't take a chance with his health so they placed him on the D.L.
Danks was disappointed but he also is concentrating on getting back as soon as possible, " Yesterday I could hardly walk but today I feel much better". "This is all new to be but the fact that I feel better today from yesterday is huge".
Needing another pitcher the Sox have called up left hander Hector Santiago. Santiago has split the season so far between Winston-Salem and Birmingham with a combined 6-5 record and 4.08 ERA. He's only expected to be used in long relief until Danks gets back.
