CHICAGO (STMW) -Red Line subway trains were rerouted to the elevated tracks Tuesday evening because of a rubbish fire at a Near North Side CTA subway station.
CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said debris on the tracks near the Red Line's Clark/Division station caught fire about 6:30 p.m., according to preliminary reports.
Subway trains were rerouted to the elevated tracks between the Fulletron and Roosevelt stations, Hosinski said. The fire department extinguished the blaze, and power in the subway was restored about 7:10 p.m.
