CHICAGO (CBS) -- Governor Quinn has signed a new law that allows undocumented immigrants the right to obtain a drivers license.
Hands were raised holding cell phone cameras as the governor signed into law the right for undocumented immigrants to get a driver's license in Illinois.
It takes away the fear of driving that many have felt until today.

"And this is a day we have long waited for lots and lots of people over many years banded together in the best traditions of democracy to make this day possible," said Quinn.
Congressman Luis Gutierrez says this is just the start.
"This is a model that we need to start to get comprehensive immigration reform accomplished," said Gutierrez.
Congressman Danny Davis took the podium saying it is the right time and this bill is the right thing to do.
And in the words of Attorney General Lisa Madigan, this bill deserved to be supported and passed into law. She says it will help people for years to come.
Illinois is now the fourth state where undocumented immigrants can get a driver's license. The first driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants are expected to be issued starting October 1.
