Police: Three Shot — One Fatally — At Near West Side Party

(STMW) -- Three men were shot, one fatally, at a party early Sunday on the Near West Side, police said.

The three were attending a party in a basement apartment at 3:10 a.m. in the 800 block of South Oakley when someone started shooting, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

A 24-year-old man was shot multiple times in the face and pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, Alfaro said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

A 33-year-old man was shot in the chest and back and taken to Stroger, Alfaro said. A 26-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and back and taken to Mount Sinai.

Both were listed in critical condition.
