Police: Several Robberies Reported In Uptown And Lincoln Square

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police issued an alert after a string of robberies that occurred in the Uptown and Lincoln Square neighborhoods.

The robberies happened in December and January, where two men approach a person from different directions before knocking them down or battering them, according to a statement from Chicago Police. Two of the robberies occurred near the CTA Argyle Red Line station, police said.

The robberies occurred:

- Dec. 6 in the 1100 block of West Argyle Street

- Dec. 31 in the 4900 block of North Broadway

- Jan. 3 in the 4900 block of North Leavitt Street

- Jan. 4 in the 1400 block of West Winona Street

The robberies are thought to have taken place between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., police said.

One suspect is a 15 to 23-year-old male, who is 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-7, has short hair, a dark complexion and weighs 140 to 160-pounds, police said.

The other suspect is a 24 to 27-year-old man, about 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-2, 190 to 220-pounds, has short hair and a dark complexion.
