Police: One Dead, One Seriously Injured In Single-Car Crash
(STMW) -- One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in the Goose Island neighborhood.
The vehicle struck a pole about 6 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Division, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The male driver – whose age was not immediately known – was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The other occupant, a 28-year-old man, was also taken to Northwestern Hospital, where he is in serious condition.
It was not clear how the vehicle lost control.
The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.
