Police: Algonquin Mother Shot TV With Rifle While Her Kids Watched
(CBS) -- An Algonquin mother of three is free on bond - after what police are calling an "unusual" crime.
Algonquin Deputy Police Chief Andrew Doles says police went to the family's home about a month ago.
"The Algonquin Police Department went to the address with the Department of Children and Family Services to investigate a report that the mother there had shot her television."
WBBM: And what did you find when you got there?
"The woman let us into the house and we found that the television was indeed shattered. And the officers did a great job there and recovered the rifle she had used to shoot the television."

Deputy Chief Doles says the woman - 40-year-old Jennifer Ullery - told officers she was upset with what her children were watching on TV - and that they'd been watching too much TV in general.
Doles says the children were not hurt. They're 15, 11 and 6.
DCFS says it has found evidence of neglect.
The TV was a 50-inch Panasonic flat-screen, Doles says. He says the actual incident occurred January 20 and police learned about it and responded February 9.
Doles says no attempt had been made to replace the shattered TV screen.
Doles says police have been called to the home before because of issues between Ullery and her husband.
Ullery is charged with aggravated reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a firearm owner ID card - and three counts of endangering the health and safety of a child.
