Plane Skids Off Runway At Wheeling Airport; No One Aboard Injured
WHEELING (STMW) -- Nobody was injured when a small airplane slid off a runaway Monday night at Chicago Executive Airport in northwest suburban Wheeling.
The Beech plane from Valparaiso, Ind., to the Wheeling airport slid off the runway upon landing about 8:30 p.m., according to Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory.
The only person on the plane was not injured, she said.
The Wheeling police and fire departments responded, according to a dispatcher, and remained on the scene at 9:30 p.m.
The FAA is investigating.
