Phil Jackson to reunite in Chicago?

by Adam Harris

There are only rumors, no fact on Phil Jackson's and the Chicago Bulls' interest to reunite.

An ESPN report said the Chicago Bulls reached out to the Laker Head Coach to see his interest in the job. This report was then downplayed by Bulls management today.

Jackson commented on this 21 days ago.

"No, I'm not," Jackson said on May 4th, when asked if he'd be interested in succeeding Vinny Del Negro. "I think it's a wonderful job for whoever takes it. It's a team on the rise and there's some young talent that showed their ability to come back after probably a devastating first two months. Then from January on they played pretty well."

Besides, Jackson is trying to lead his current  NBA team to it's second NBA championship in two years. The Lakers are up 2-1 in the Western Conference finals over the Phoenix Suns, with home court advantage still in tact.

Don't get too excited Bulls fans. NBA Free Agency is pure speculation and rumors until July 1st comes around, when the restricted free agents become unrestricted and able to sign with any team. Anyone's guess as to what is going to happen is valid because most stories are rumors and underground information.

LeBron to Chicago? Phil to coach him? Bosh to come here with a sign and trade including Deng and Hinrich? Add Rudy Gay to the mix?

All this seems very doable on paper, but do not fool yourself. The management still needs to pull the trigger on all these deals, something they have proven unable to do in their tenure.
