ND May Join Big Ten: NYT

Today's New York Times speculates that Notre Dame could join the Big Ten, and its decision to do so could stave off the anticipated cataclysmic reshuffling of college sports.
AD Jack Swarbrick has hedged his commitment to independence by saying that "seismic" change of the landscape could force affiliation, and he may prefer the Irish be the 12th (and, presumably, final) team to join instead of crawling back later as the 16th team after the Big East crumbles.
We had Charles Davis on to talk about realignment yesterday, but my head still spins, since it is difficult to follow all of the moving pieces while sorting through every report and scenario.
Help me understand the point of the Tribune's "Chrissy Pronger" mini-poster of the Flyers' defenseman in a skirt, with the comment that it's "what we imagine Pronger looks like at Flyers practice.". What is the message -- he's not tough because he's half woman, and women are not as tough as men? I must be missing some backstory here.
CNBC's Darren Rovell tweets that the Spelling Bee outrated game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals by nearly a million viewers -- 4 million to 3.1 million. And even though the NBA finals clobbered Hawks/Flyers Sunday night (10.9-4.0), the NHL saw the bigger increase from last season, which is no surprise with the markets involved this year.
