Metra BNSF trains delayed extensively for police investigation in Cicero
Metra BNSF riders will face extensive delays during the evening commute because of police activity in Cicero, officials said.
Metra officials posted an alert saying an inbound train that had been scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 2:20 p.m. had been terminated at Cicero because of an "ongoing police investigation."
Metra did not offer any details about what the police investigation involved, just that it was happening near the Cicero station tracks. CBS News Chicago has reached out to the Cicero Police Department for more information and are waiting to hear back.
Both inbound and outbound trains were moving but with extensive delays shortly after 4 p.m. Metra said.
Information about the police investigation has not yet been released.
