Meltdown

Pretty much a lost weekend for the White Sox. First they blew a 9th inning loss on Saturday night and then they coughed up an 8th inning  advantage on Sunday. The net result was a pair of losses to the Tigers thus dropping them three games behind red hot Minnesota in the AL Central.

JJ Putz was front and center in both defeats. He gave up a game winning two run homer on Saturday and followed that up on Sunday allowing three runs in the 8th after the Sox had taken the lead. Putz was pretty disconsolate after Sunday's game and begged off speaking with reporters.

Andruw Jones didn't help matters in that 8th frame as he dropped a fly ball that he should have caught. He did have a good day at the plate with three hits including a  home run but all of a sudden the Sox are getting shaky pitching from their bull pen and shaky defense, as well.

Following a day off on Monday the Sox travel to Minnesota to take on the Twins and anything less then taking two out of three will cause further panic to Sox fans.
