She's the assistant adjutant general of the Illinois National Guard and a FEMA official who has worked in the Middle East and domestically. When asked, Tate-Nadeau suggested she won't have much of a learning curve.
"Israel has a very robust communications network that they use for all kinds of disasters so that's what I'm probably the most familiar with and then whenever you simply want to talk about technology and communications, I've worked in a variety of organizations where we had very complex communications networks that we had to put together," she said.
Tate-Nadeau told reporters she looks at public safety in Chicago as a team operation and she's honored to be part of it.
