Man Robbed Bank In The Loop

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A bank inside the Aon Center was robbed Wednesday morning in the Loop.

A man walked into the Associated Bank branch at 200 E. Randolph at 8:05 a.m. and pretended to be customer, FBI spokesman Garrett Croon said.

Then he jumped the teller counter and demanded money, Croon said. He implied he had a weapon, but didn't show one.

The suspect was described as slim black man between 25 and 35, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds, according to the FBI. He was wearing a yellow "IOWA" hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.

So far in 2016, 158 banks have been robbed in the Chicago area, according to the FBI. Last year, there were a total of 144 bank robberies.
