Man Charged With Double Murder At Horan Park Last Summer

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 19-year-old west suburban man has been charged with killing two people and wounding two others in a shooting at a West Side park last summer.

Frank Robinson was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery with discharge of a firearm, all felonies, according to Chicago Police.

The shooting happened at Horan Park in the 3000 block of West Van Buren at 10:36 a.m. Aug. 26, 2015, police said.

Kwamaine Lovette, 22, was shot in the chest, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 11:37 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Lovette lived in the 2900 block of West Wilcox.

Kortney Blakes, 23, was shot in the head, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 2:07 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office. Blakes lived in the 3200 block of West Polk.

Another 23-year-old man was shot in the upper left shoulder; and a 22-year-old man was shot in the right leg, police said. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

Robinson, of the 1500 block of South Harlem in Forest Park, was scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
