CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman and three young people were injured Saturday evening in a rollover crash on Lake Shore Drive near Belmont Avenue.
Police said a 36-year-old woman was driving a 1996 Toyota sedan north on Lake Shore Drive when her car slid toward the on-ramp from Belmont Avenue.
The car struck a pole and rolled over, and also hit another car that was heading north, police said.
The driver and her three passengers – ages 12 to 17 – were taken Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment, police said. The Fire Department said the driver was in critical condition, and earlier made mention of a fourth child injured.
The car that was struck was a 2011 Toyota sedan with two people inside – neither of whom sought medical treatment or went to the hospital, police said.
The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit was investigating. No citations or charges had been issued late Saturday.
