White Sox Place Konerko On 7-Day DL
(WSCR) Before the start of the White Sox's weekend series against the Athletics, the club announced it had placed Paul Konerko on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion.
Konerko suffered the injury Tuesday against the Royals when he collided with Jarrod Dyson at first base.
Konerko is hitting .316 (119-377) with 18 home runs and 54 RBI in 101 games this season. He ranks sixth in the American League in on-base percentage (.388) and is tied for sixth in average.
This marks the first time the White Sox have used the seven-day disabled list.
The club will announce a corresponding roster move on Saturday.
