Inbound Kennedy Expressway disrupted near Nagle curve after crash

The inbound Kennedy Expressway was shut down for a period of time at the Nagle Avenue curve for a crash as the morning rush began early Monday.

One person was reported injured in the crash.

The blockage on the inbound side of the expressway (I-90) and affected motorists coming in from O'Hare International Airport. The crash left traffic solid from the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway to the west.

The right shoulder later reopened, and then the right lane. By 6:25 a.m., only the left two lanes were closed.

Just before 7 a.m., all lanes were back open, as multiple Illinois State Police troopers and a couple of tow trucks left the scene.

However, Illinois State Police may need to shut down all lanes again as they investigate the crash.

One person was reportedly taken to the hospital in critical condition from the crash, and CPR may have been performed at the scene.

Illinois State Police said two cars were involved in the crash near Austin Avenue on the Kennedy. Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
