Groundhog Day

Just like the movie, "Groundhog Day" the Cubs are the same story repeatedly. For the umpteenth time the offense was invisible as the Northsiders lost to the Reds 3-2 in 10 innings. It would have been another shutout without Tyler Colvin's 2 run single in the 8th inning.
Before Colvin's hit, the Cubs had gone 18 straight scoreless innings. And this now makes 33 times in 79 games that they have scored two runs or less. The offense, or lack their of, is the reason this time is now a season worst 11 games under 500 and getting closer and closer to being broken up.
General Manager, Jim Hendry has avoided discussing the dissolution of this club but very shortly he'll have no choice. There are numerous scouts hovering like vultures who are ready to pick at the Cub's bones. The white flag wont do anything to help the decreasing attendance but it's a fact of life in the baseball world that you have to sell when a high priced team under achieves.
